Waves

The "waves" are actually groups of Funding Commitment Decisions Letters sent by the Schools and Libraries Division (SLD) to applicants and service providers informing them of E-rate funding decisions. The SLD generates the "waves" of letters by processing applications based on the Federal Communications Commission's rules of priority and the timing of when the application was filed within the filing window.

Applicant Name

The name of the applicant - the entity who filed the application; school, school district, library, library consortium, or consortium. (Consortia leaders featured here may include entities which are not schools or libraries, e.g. a county government filing on behalf of libraries.)

Service

There may be four types of service descriptions listed:

Telecomm:

Internet Access:

 

for Internet Access

Internal Connections:

 

for internal connections

Address, City, Zip

Address for the applicant.

$ Amount

Identifies the funds committed in the form of a discount on eligible services delivered to eligible entities.  (The applicant, or eligible entity it represents, receives the discount on services from the service provider, while the actual funds are received by the service provider delivering the services.)

Discount (%)

The percentage discount for which the applicant qualifies on that service type.
