The SLD has added important information to the Frequently Asked Questions in the Reference Area. Find answers to questions about online filing and certification, whether a service provider may request additional information, how to document cost-effectiveness with Internet access, and the responsibilities of consortium "lead members".

The SLD has updated the "Calculating Your Discounts" document. If you are applying for E-rate discounts on eligible services, you must calculate the percentage discount that you (and the entities you represent) are eligible to receive.

The Vendor Area of the SLD Web Site features updated information about submitting FCC Form 498 and receiving the SPIN, or Service Provider Identification Number.  Click here to review this important update.

The SLD has created two new guidance documents to help you successfully complete the Form 471.

Both documents are available in the "Applying for Discounts: Step-by-Step" section of the SLD Web Site, under Step 5, Notify SLD of Vendor Selection - Form 471.

The "Frequently Asked Questions" section of the SLD Web Site now features the answer to the following question:

During the Fall of 1999, the SLD staff traveled across the country, presenting regional outreach training sessions about the Year 3 E-rate program.   Now you can download the training slide shows (saved as PowerPoint documents) for Form 470 and Form 471.

The revised SLD Eligible Services List is now available online. This list has undergone significant changes and now reflects more details and information about the eligibility of products and services under the E-rate program. Click here to download a copy of the SLD Eligible Services List.

Please note that the closing date of the Form 471 window is January 19, 2000, at 11:59 PM EST. Some E-rate applicants received a Form 470 Receipt Notification Letter that incorrectly indicates the closing date of the Form 471 window. The SLD regrets this error and will be sending these applicants a clarification letter indicating the correct closing date of January 19, 2000. Thank you for your patience.
